On 18th June, a few plucky members of the Grist gang will be donning the lycra and pedalling the 54 miles from London to Brighton in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Your support can help save lives and make a real difference.

It may look all downhill on a map, but make no mistake, this is no easy task. The tough climbs, rutted roads and final punishing ascent of Ditchling Beacon have broken many a soul before us.

Our team - Andy Rogerson, Mark Wellings, Phil Harding, Mike Barrett and Stephen Saw - includes a mix of sometime cyclists, seasoned pedal-pushers and foolhardy first-timers.

And we're in a race against time to get there before the pubs close.

It's all for a great cause - the British Heart Foundation does amazing work helping to save lives every day - and it's one we're proud to support.

Help us save lives!

If you'd like to help us reach our fundraising goal and help the British Heart Foundation save lives, please visit the 'Grist on the road' JustGiving page and make a donation.

You can even decide which team member you want to sponsor. Tactical donations are recommended, as the loser buys the first round in Brighton.

Thanks for your support!
